DOĞA PANSİYON SELİMİYE REVIEW
Selimiye lies about 50 km from central Marmaris: a wonderfully peaceful bay with a village wrapped around the waterfront. Boats drop anchor while village life continues at its own gentle pace, among fish restaurants, bakeries and guesthouses of every size. From 10 to 12 June, our dear friend Sevda Yollarda invited us to spend a lovely weekend at Doğa Apart Pansiyon. The other guests included Gezgin Denizkızı, fresh from nine months on the road; Gezmek Güzel, known for uncovering hidden gems; and Acilen Gezmem Lazım, who heads off on a road trip at every opportunity. With such good company, we had a wonderful time at Doğa Pansiyon Selimiye.
At the time of our visit, this charming guesthouse had been welcoming visitors in central Selimiye for ten years. It was affordable and made for a wonderfully restful escape. With its pool, flower-filled garden and easy-going atmosphere, it offered a peaceful holiday surrounded by nature.
GARDEN AND POOL
A bright-blue pool sits among the rooms at Doğa Pansiyon. We arrived, dropped our bags in the room and went straight into the water. Straw parasols and sun loungers completed the relaxed poolside atmosphere. You could sunbathe or read in the shade; we chose to share travel stories over glasses of beautifully brewed tea.
The garden was filled with flowers, green lawns and olive trees. We especially loved the grass just behind the sun loungers; walking barefoot and feeling the earth beneath our feet did us a world of good =). The flowerpots lining the steps to our veranda were another lovely touch.
ROOM
We stayed in one of three first-floor rooms overlooking the pool. A veranda in front of the room gave us somewhere to sit with a drink or simply look out over the garden, and its stone steps were decorated with flowerpots. A full-height sliding door opened into the room and let in plenty of natural light. Early risers may even enjoy watching the sunrise from here.
The room was extremely simple and spotlessly clean, furnished with a bed, wardrobe, tiny dressing table and bedside cabinet. Rose petals had been scattered across the bed—a small gesture that added a welcome splash of colour—and we found the mattress very comfortable. A practical rack on the bathroom door provided space for towels and other items.
Our bathroom was quite spacious. Shampoo and shower gel were not provided during our stay, so we had brought our own. The water heated quickly, the shower enclosure was roomy and a hairdryer was available. The guesthouse supplied pristine white towels, while a washing line on the veranda was useful for drying beach towels.
Our room did not have a television or minibar, although we were told that some other rooms did. Wi-Fi was fast in the communal areas but did not reach our room; after a full day, however, we were too pleasantly tired to miss the internet.
BREAKFAST
The kitchen and dining area beside the pool was comfortable and inviting. Breakfast included omelette, crisp cheese-filled pastries, white cheese and tulum cheese, olives, tomatoes, fresh greens and preserves—plus, of course, properly brewed tea =). Eating natural produce in the shade, surrounded by greenery and beside the pool, was a real pleasure. Listening to Deniz Abla's stories of hitchhiking through South America made it even better =).
Breakfast was served at the table, while a large tea urn in the dining area allowed guests to help themselves to refills.
LOCATION
Doğa Pansiyon sits behind Sardunya Restaurant. We missed the entrance while driving and had to turn back because the route leaves the village's main road via a very narrow lane. A gravel parking area stands at the end of the lane, from where you can walk to the guesthouse. The property is only a short walk from the sea and within walking distance of Selimiye's restaurants, cafés and shops.
OUR OVERALL IMPRESSION
For visitors arriving in Selimiye by car or boat, this was a central, clean and good-value place to stay. Families should also find it comfortable thanks to the spacious rooms and pool. We spent a genuinely restful weekend here, where greenery and holiday life came together beautifully, and we were happy to recommend it based on that experience. Many thanks to Sevda Yollarda and Doğa Pansiyon Selimiye for the invitation.
WHAT WE LIKED
We loved the staff's warm, natural manner, the feeling of being at home and the beautiful combination of the blue pool with the surrounding greenery.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
It would have been nice if the Wi-Fi had reached our room—perhaps we could have watched an episode of something before bed =).
PRICE AND CURRENT INFORMATION
Selimiye has a short season, so prices vary considerably by date. Our June stay was very reasonably priced. Current 2026 listings still show the property operating as Doğa Pansiyon Selimiye, with an outdoor pool, at Hanımpınarı Sokak No. 63. Because prices, room facilities and contact details can change, check the current booking page before making plans. Information checked in August 2026.
