BEST BREAKFAST PLACES IN ÇEŞME

By Breakfastbrunch35
Updated August 2026: This is a personal food diary from 2015, and every price below is historical. My Stone Home, Cafe de Lucchi, Marge Hotel, Noni’s House, Tarla Alaçatı, Zeytinaltı, Katre, Çeşme Bazlama Kahvaltı and Çeşme Sedir Kahvaltı still have a current online presence. Alaçatı Surf Paradise Club is active, but I could not verify the same Sir Winston CBR breakfast operation there. I also could not confidently confirm the current status of the same Ayasaranda Sunset breakfast service or Su’dan Hayat. Check directly before making a special trip.
Every holiday daydream seems to include a breakfast or brunch table piled with cheese, tomatoes, homemade jam and glass after glass of perfectly brewed tea. Add the smell of fresh gevrek and poğaça, hand-rolled börek, gözleme, truly homemade strawberry jam, charming plates and long conversations with friends among the greenery... I am hungry already :) We have never seen anyone elsewhere in the world take breakfast quite as seriously as we do; Turks can comfortably claim world-class status here. Our dear friend Melis Erdölek, a genuine breakfast enthusiast, spent a summer sampling venues across Çeşme and shared her impressions one by one: the prettiest gardens, the prices, each place’s specialities and the trendiest breakfast spots. We brightened the page with photos from her Instagram account. If you are wondering where to have breakfast in Çeşme, here is the list—all that remains is to browse and choose :)

SIR WINSTON CBR

A photo posted by Kokladunyayi (@kokladunyayi) on Sep 18, 2015 at 3:39pm PDT

That summer, Sir Winston CBR was in the garden of the Alaçatı Surf Paradise Club surf school. First came the lawn, then the sea. They had created a wonderfully warm atmosphere; the music and the surfers passing by added plenty of colour. The breakfast seemed to have everything, the food quality was very good and service was quick. We really enjoyed it.
Variety: good
Quality: good
Setting: relaxed
Service: good and quick
We liked: the cheeses and pişi
Price in 2015: TRY 35–40 per person.

Address at the time: ASPC surf centre, Alaçatı,İzmir

MY STONE HOME BOUTIQUE HOTEL

A photo posted by Kokladunyayi (@kokladunyayi) on Sep 18, 2015 at 3:57pm PDT

The inviting entrance and peaceful atmosphere won me over immediately. Because we were a large group, we had booked ahead. Our table was ready: lace-trimmed napkins sat on the plates, spotless white cloths covered the bread to keep it fresh, purple flowers decorated the olives, and pink and red potted plants of every size waited on the table. There were several kinds of bread and simit, unlimited tea and six homemade jams. My favourites were the sweet lor mixed with lemon and topped with sour-cherry jam, the savoury lor blended with tomato and spices, and the pişi. The egg dish arrived as a spinach omelette—or perhaps spinach with egg :) The only thing I missed was bal kaymak. If you are thinking, “There was already a mountain of food and you could not finish it,” you are right. I simply love bal kaymak.

Variety: good
Quality: good
Service: good; everything was either waiting on the table or served piping hot.
Setting: relaxed and charming
We loved: the sweet lor with lemon—wonderful!
Price in 2015: TRY 35 per person; large groups could ask for a special rate.

Address: My Stone Home Hotel, Yıldızburnu, Ilıca, Çeşme

CAFE DE LUCCHI

A photo posted by Kokladunyayi (@kokladunyayi) on Sep 18, 2015 at 4:12pm PDT

Cafe de Lucchi is a waterfront café in central Çeşme. Four generations of us went there for breakfast, and we were the only customers. I had not visited since the previous year, but apart from the name—it used to be Rams—not much had changed. Service was still extremely slow: breakfast took about twenty minutes, and the bread and tea took even longer. The children grew hungry and restless. The breakfast itself was very average. A road runs in front, but the sea view towards Chios is lovely. There is parking out front, though parked cars block the view, and beneath the awning it can get hot.
Variety: average
Quality: average
Service: slow
Setting: relaxed, sea view, hot during the day
We liked: Turkish coffee served with chocolate and mastic-flavoured water
We did not like: the pepper paste, lor cheese and commercial jams
Price in 2015: the breakfast spread with unlimited tea was TRY 34; with an egg dish, it was enough for three or four people.

AYASARANDA SUNSET

A photo posted by Kokladunyayi (@kokladunyayi) on Sep 18, 2015 at 4:25pm PDT

We enjoyed breakfast at Ayasaranda Sunset. It was a calm, relaxing place looking towards Chios. You could sit beneath reed canopies on either side or under umbrellas in the middle. There was a light breeze, though it could be uncomfortable on very windy days. The breakfast spread for two comfortably fed four, and the cheese portions were enormous. We added pişi, which was rich and delicious. There was no room left for eggs, but those on the next table looked very good. The view was magnificent and so was the sunset, although the venue did not serve dinner. Evenings were used for weddings, engagements, birthdays and similar events.

Quality: good
Variety: good
Service: standard
Setting: can be very windy; views of Chios and the sea
We liked: pişi and tulum cheese
We did not like: there could have been more kinds of bread
Price in 2015: breakfast for two with unlimited tea was TRY 50; pişi was TRY 13; fried egg dishes ranged from TRY 12 to 18.
Address at the time: Ayasaranda, Çeşme, İzmir. From the roundabout opposite Migros on the Dalyan road, turn left and follow the signs.

After breakfast I drank my coffee with this view of Chios. I hope your path brings you here so you can enjoy a coffee with the same view.

This time I managed to photograph the breakfast before anyone touched it! The presentation was beautiful. In the courtyard of the boutique hotel in Ilıca, they had created a charming Alaçatı-style atmosphere. We visited on a still day and the courtyard was very hot. It would be ideal when the wind is strong, but as the sun reflects off the stone it becomes hotter towards noon. Booking ahead was advisable.
The jams were sour cherry, raisin and orange. I am not fond of peel preserves, and the raisin jam was unusual but very sweet. There was bal kaymak too. The cheese omelette and pişi were good, though there was only one kind of bread.

NONI’S HOUSE

At last, Noni’s House! We had heard so much praise and liked it very much too. The pişi was especially good. The cheeses were tulum and beyaz peynir, plus lor with mulberry jam, although the lor tasted a little sour to me. They said the jams were made from fruit picked in their own garden. I liked the plum jam, but the banana jam was apparently the famous one. I also strongly recommend the menemen; I had mine with cheese and it was delicious. Tea arrived in a thermos, though some of our group found it rather strongly scented and a little dark. After breakfast they served a complimentary sorbet made with their own fruit, perfect in the heat, and chocolate cake came with our coffee. We were thoroughly spoiled. It could be very hot on still days, however, and I thought the prices were a little high for this breakfast.

TARLA ALAÇATI

A photo posted by Kokladunyayi (@kokladunyayi) on Sep 19, 2015 at 12:56am PDT

Tarla Alaçatı—straight from field to table. In a huge garden filled with fruit trees, beneath walnut and carob trees, they had created an exceptionally peaceful setting. Chickens wandered past and, depending on your seat, water flowed beneath you. The breakfast was just as satisfying.

For me, the special feature here was the jam:all homemade, with flavours from lavender to mint. They arrived in small dishes and any favourite could be replenished. There were five cheeses, three or four kinds of bread and three types of house-made olives. Then there were the poğaça—almost too good to describe. In addition to breakfast we ordered gözleme with cheese and herbs, menemen, and bread topped with hummus, egg and pastırma. Every dish was excellent.

Quality: very good
Variety: very good
Service: good
Setting: peaceful, relaxed and surrounded by nature
We loved: all those jams, the herb-and-cheese gözleme, hummus and pastırma bread, and the poğaça.
Price in 2015: after sharing menemen, gözleme and hummus bread in addition to breakfast, we paid TRY 45 per person.
Address at the time: turn right beside Kartopu in Alaçatı onto the Ovacık road, follow the signs for a few kilometres, then turn left.

SU’DAN HAYAT

A photo posted by Kokladunyayi (@kokladunyayi) on Sep 19, 2015 at 7:21am PDT

At Su’dan Hayat, everything at breakfast showed real care: grated lemon peel and poppy seeds on the gherkins, fresh mint on the tomatoes, and banana, strawberry, peach and honey over the lor. It was a vegetarian breakfast. The avocado egg dish came as egg over a base of avocado and cheese and was very good. Breakfast also included three cheeses, four jams, bal kaymak, yoghurt with fruit pieces, sourdough bread and simit.
Breakfast was served in the courtyard of an old house in Hacımemiş, beneath mandarin, lemon and fig trees. Be warned: it became very hot on still days.
Tea and coffee cost extra. The breakfast was good, but it was TRY 35 per person in 2015 and even tea was not included. You may disagree, but after a large group had also ordered eggs and fruit juice, I felt a coffee could have been offered. We paid TRY 65 per person. It was good, but not worth that price in my view—the decision is yours.

Quality: very good
Variety: good
Setting: a relaxed gravel courtyard with citrus trees
Service: standard
We liked: the avocado egg dish
We did not like: only one kind of bread—not everyone likes sourdough—plus tea not being included and the price.
Price in 2015: TRY 35 per person excluding tea; egg dishes ranged from TRY 14 to 20.
Address at the time: Jandarma Street in Hacımemiş, Alaçatı.

ZEYTİNALTI, ALAÇATI

A photo posted by Kokladunyayi (@kokladunyayi) on Sep 19, 2015 at 7:44am PDT

The venue was surrounded by its own fields, with breakfast served beneath olive trees at the centre. All the vegetables came from the garden, jams were made with fruit from their trees, and even the tomatoes were dried in-house. The breakfast spread included sun-dried tomatoes, çemen, roasted almonds in their skins, three or four jams—which changed from visit to visit—three kinds of olives and three cheeses. They baked their own bread, and the cornbread was superb. Bal kaymak, pişi and omelettes were ordered separately. The pişi was especially light and well worth trying.
The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed. There was no playground, but visiting children never seemed eager to leave. It also suited guests with children or dogs :) Weekends could be extremely busy.

Quality: good
Variety: good
Setting: relaxed, peaceful garden
Service: good
We liked: lor with mulberry jam, cornbread and grape juice
We did not like: the wooden chairs had no cushions and were a little hard.
Price in 2015: TRY 25 per person for the breakfast spread; fried eggs or omelettes were TRY 13–15. Jars of jam were also sold for TRY 10.

Address at the time: on Çamlık Road from Alaçatı towards the surf centres, turn right before passing beneath the motorway; there was a sign.

They called this the first vegetarian breakfast, and at first I thought, “Fine, you just skip the sausage,” but it was nothing like that. There was avocado with capers and sun-dried tomato, purslane with cheese and parsley, lor with walnut and tomato, hummus, tofu, and tahini with pekmez. The table also held pişi, sourdough and sweet yeasted bread, simit, four or five jams, bal kaymak and four or five cheeses—including goat’s cheese. Omelettes cost extra, but we had no room left to try one. When I remarked on how light the fig jam was, I learned that their jams were made with apple juice and only a little sugar for texture. It was delicious. Tea, water and instant coffee were unlimited and included; Turkish coffee and their speciality flavoured coffees cost extra.
The view looked towards Alaçatı’s surf centres and the atmosphere was relaxed. A fan beneath the canopy was a lifesaver in the hot weather. The garden was lawned.
Variety: very good
Service: standard
Setting: relaxed garden with a sea view
We loved: the walnut, tomato and spiced lor; avocado with capers and sun-dried tomatoes; and the sheer variety—bal kaymak, jams, tahini and pekmez, and lor with mulberry all on one table.

Price in 2015: regular breakfast was TRY 30 per person; vegetarian breakfast TRY 40; omelettes ranged from TRY 10 to 18.
Address at the time: on the road to the Alaçatı surf centres, on the right after passing the port; there was a sign.

BAZLAMA KAHVALTI & BRUNCH

Bazlama Kahvaltı stood on the Dalyan road beside Jet Migros and was actually part of a nine-room boutique hotel. Breakfast was served on the lawn beneath trees and woven parasols. The setting was relaxed and the chair cushions were especially comfortable :) Tables were a little close together. A glass wall separated the kitchen from the garden, so you could watch everything being prepared; gözleme and bazlama were cooked right in front of you in the garden. I loved the charming plates and the beautiful presentation.
Three kinds of olives, four cheeses, three jams, bal kaymak, gözleme, bazlama, menemen, pişi, four or five breads, samovar tea and coffee were all included. You left absolutely full. The 2015 price was TRY 30 per person.
Because we had young children in our group, the staff kindly poured our tea rather than leaving us with the samovar. There was also a shady park right next door—useful for families with little ones :)

Quality: good
Variety: good
Service: good, though it could become very slow when busy.
Setting: relaxed garden, suitable for families with children
We liked: fig and cranberry jams, gözleme and bazlama
Price in 2015: TRY 30 per person, including omelette, gözleme, pişi, bazlama, tea and coffee.
Address at the time: on the Dalyan road, immediately on the right as the road bends towards Dalyan village, beside Jet Migros.

SEDİR KAHVALTI

Some places become classics, and Sedir was one of them. When it first opened, the variety in its breakfast spread and its simit dolması won us over. It also earned a place in my heart when, before taking our order, the staff brought a bowl of water for my dog without my even asking.
I visited often in winter and this was my first summer visit. I thought the presentation had slipped a little. Everything used to arrive on teardrop-shaped plates; the oval dishes were new. The cheese plate had once been decorated with mint, greens and cherry tomatoes. The selection was broadly similar, though this time there were two jams rather than three, and there used to be white Sarelle too.
The breakfast was still very good. There was everything from çemen and pepper paste to lor with mulberry jam, bal kaymak, three kinds of olives, four cheeses, Sarelle, hazelnut spread, and sliced tomato and pepper. Four breads and simit were served, and breakfast for two could easily feed four. Tea came in a samovar; the first pot was included.
The simit dolması was magnificent—they had finally patented it. The crêpe with hazelnut spread was successful and the egg dishes, especially the menemen, were good. We did not care much for the mıhlama. In 2015, the breakfast spread for two cost TRY 45 and simit dolması TRY 15.
Complimentary valet parking was available; whether to tip was up to you.
There was a distant view of Boyalık Bay, and the location was very central.

Quality: good, although I thought it had slipped a little from earlier years.
Service: good
Setting: a charming garden area with wooden flooring, tables and chairs. Upstairs was a glass-enclosed winter section with a fireplace, plus a distant sea view.
Price in 2015: the breakfast spread for two was TRY 45 including tea; egg dishes were TRY 10–15 and simit dolması TRY 15. With extras, the total was generally around TRY 25 per person. Address at the time: on the Çeşme–Ilıca road, on the right just after the Alper Çizgenakat Hospital junction and before the Altınyunus junction.
